Adoption Information and Guidelines
Believet™ is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that trains highly skilled service dogs for disabled military veterans. Dogs available for adoption have been released from our service dog program for a variety of reasons.
We use a lot of our resources adopting, vaccinating and training these dogs, but because of our organization’s mission, we do not have an adoption fee. However, we do require a meaningful donation to our organization to help us fulfill our mission.
If you’re adopting / applying for a dog, you will be the owner of the dog. No dog will be adopted as a gift or intended for someone else.
Believet intends to provide good matches between dogs and people. To help us ensure the match will be successful, we require you to fill out our adoption application accurately and truthfully. Believet can refuse the adoption of any dog if it is not in the best interest of the dog or the family.
If the adopter lives in a rental property, it is required to get a landlords approval before adoption. Believet requires your approval to contact your landlord.
Believet will check with your current veterinarian for confirmation before approval of the adoption.
If you have any question regarding these policies please contact a Believet Representative.
