How your gift helps:

  • $42,000 Completely covers the cost of adopting/breeding, caring for, and training a dog for a life of service with a disabled or injured veteran
  • $8,500 The kennel and boarding costs for 1 service dog for 6 months
  • $3,000 Pays spay/neuter fees for 6 service dogs
  • $2,000 Provides required annual vaccinations for 10 service dogs
  • $1,500 Feeds 15 service dogs for a month
  • $500 Cost to spay/neuter 1 service dog
  • $400 Pays for dental cleaning and care
  • $100 Feeds a service dog for a month
  • $40 Cost of a service dog vest
  • $20 Covers one month’s flea and tick treatment, and heart-worm prevention

Where do Believet's funds come from?

The majority of Believet’s funds come from public donations. Believet does apply for and receives grants from foundations and trusts as well as state and federal grants.

Does Believet receive funding from the VA?

At this time, the VA does not give grants to service dog organizations for psychiatric service dogs that aid with PTSD and related symptoms. A bill was passed recently requiring the VA to provide funding for such accredited organizations.

Is my donation tax deductible and will I get verification of my donation for tax purposes?

Believet™ is a 501(c)3 tax exempt non-profit organization. It provides acknowledgement of donations for tax purposes.

Believet™ is committed to respecting the privacy of donors. We do not sell or rent our donor lists. All information concerning donors or prospective donors, including their names, addresses, telephone numbers, email addresses, the amount of the gift, etc., shall be kept strictly confidential by Believet™, its staff and volunteers, unless permission is obtained from donors to release such information.
